Monte Carlo Historique - Opel Leads!

Before the final two stages of the last night of the 2017 Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique were played out, it was the Belgian Opel Ascona 2000 #25 of Michel Decremer and Yannick Albert that led the Rally. Crews had started from Quai Albert Ier Monaco at 21:00 and headed back into the snow covered Alps Maritimes for one last time to tackle RS13 Lantosque Luceram at 22:10 followed by RS14 La Bollene Vesubie Sospel at 23:04 before heading back to Parc fermé, arriving in Monaco from 01:20. Results are due to be posted at rally headquarters in the rather swish Automobile Club De Monaco at 12:30.

In a last act of supreme irony, veteran navigater Willie Cave was forced to retire, after celebrating his 90th birthday earlier on the event, when the engine on David Mustarde's 1963 Alfa Romeo cried enough before the last night!
