Loeb's Peugeot wins Goodwood Shootout

The nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb had qualified second fastest in the fearsome Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak car on Saturday, but went on to shave almost a second from his time to take the top spot when it counted most on Sunday afternoon, posting a time of 44.60 seconds.

It is the second year in a row in which the wing-bedecked Pikes Peak Peugeot special has set the fastest time at Goodwood; Gregory Guilvert tying for the top spot in 2013 with Nick Heidfeld's Lola B12/60-Toyota in a time of 45.86s. Loeb's time set this year was the sixth-fastest time ever set on Goodwood's iconic and demanding 1.16-mile Hillclimb.

By securing victory at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Sebastien Loeb added the 'shoot-out' silver wear to his bulging trophy cabinet after his stirring run against the Goodwood clock. Loeb now races for Citroen in the World Touring Car Championship and also runs his own team in the WEC.
